Job Responsibilities/Department Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated Ph.D. scientist with a strong background in in vivo pharmacologyto supportdrug discovery programs in the Sanofi Rare Disease Research unit, based in Framingham, Massachusetts.The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience in developing/utilizing preclinical models for drug development and/or target validation, and aproven ability to work in a highly collaborative environment.
Design, execute, analyze and interpret results of preclinical research studies toevaluate efficacy and mechanism of action of novel therapeutics.
Develop in vivo model systems and ex vivo analytical techniques toincrease understanding of disease biologyand therapeutic MOAacross a broad portfolio of projects.
This position requires flexibility, ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment, and enthusiasm for expanding one’s skills into new areas of research.
Potential to develop into a supervisory role.
PhD degree in pharmacology, biomedical science, immunology, or a related field with 0-2 years ofpost-graduate experience in either academic or industrial setting.
Hands on expertise in animal model development, experimental design, and up-to-date ex vivo analytical methods (cell/molecular biology etc.).
Pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience preferred
Expertise in current techniques for in vivo modulation of gene expression desirable
Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional and team-based environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills,attention to detail and organizational skills, as well as exceptional written and oral communication skills
