Division Description:

ITW Deltar Fasteners serves all the major OEMs and their tier suppliers with plastic fasteners totalling approximately $200M in revenues. Units include: Frankfort, IL; Chippewa Falls, WI and our Commercial Sales and Engineering in Troy, MI.

  • Maintaining advanced engineering and manufacturing facilities in NA.

Position Summary:

  • To carry out assignments requiring a systems approach to creating fastening solutions for the customer’s application. To act as a team leader in value engineering type projects. To become an expert in the application of products to one or more assigned markets and act as consulting engineer to customers who serve those markets.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Attend sales and engineering meetings to support product development at customer locations, when necessary.

  • Manage and coordinate project assignments with the Sales Team to meet specific customer requirements.

  • Develop innovative 3D designs that meet customer needs and incorporate ITW design features for product differentiation; work with attorney for patent protection when appropriate.

  • Ensure product designs meet or exceed customer, manufacturing, and financial requirements.

  • Responsible for project timing through the successful completion of PPAP and launch.

  • Support customer launch activities, as necessary.

  • Benchmark competitive products.

  • Education/Experience: Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Broad knowledge of instrumentation and software technology and design.

  • 3D CAD software or modelling experience.
