Position Summary:

Responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations and long term planning of the quality and failure analysis functions within CIP. This position will be responsible for maintaining the world-class levels of product quality in company-operated manufacturing

facility and establish quality specifications. Specific responsibilities include planning, directing, and leading the company's Quality Management System & Processes assuring adherence with both internal & external requirements, thus ensuring that the Quality

Management System is effectively implemented throughout the organization to assure operational goals are met and exceeded on a continuous basis.


  • Serves as liaison and point of contact between Customer (Automotive OEMs and Tiers) and the organization.

  • Formulates and maintains quality control objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with Plant Manager to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.

  • Develop courses of action, with Plant Managers & Quality Engineers, for alleviating and resolving problems (champion of correction actions, 8D resolution, APQP champion)

  • Develop and lead excellence in use of quality tool application (e.g. 8D, 5xwhy, FMEA or Ishikawa) Collaborates with Plant Managers to maintain Quality Department with regard to company goals, human resource development and employee satisfaction.

  • Actively participates in meetings and negotiations with customer on programs and related quality issues.

  • Reviews manual, procedures, work instructions, forms and entire plant quality system for compliance to current automotive standards and related agencies (i.e. AIAG, etc.).

  • Plans, promotes and organizes training activities related to product quality and reliability.

  • Ensure that participating groups adhere to quality assurance policy and program plans.

  • Audit: Champion of internal audit and adherence to TS16949. Follows and stays current with TS16949 procedures, policies, manuals, and subscriptions. Aligns employees with quality behavior and quality standards (ISO TS and consequently ISO 14001, CQI-9,OHSAS, MMOG, and other related systems)

  • Participates in surveillance of subcontractors’ manufacturing processes and control subcontractor performance system.

  • Prepares periodic and special reports concerning departmental activities, problems, subcontractors’ quality system, schedules, and rejected items.

  • Ensures that participating groups adhere to quality assurance policy, program plans.

  • Interfaces with plant managers, customers and subcontractors as required in such areas as: APQP, Part Number Control Plans, PPAP, KPI’s, and Continuous Improvement

  • Ensures continuous improvement as a vital part of company culture

  • Champions quality knowledge in production and the quality department.

  • Implements, influences, manages and supports quality-related KPIs

  • Maintain and support work safety and environmental rules

  • Drives the team to implement a monthly QOS culture and system

  • Coordinates a proactive approach to eliminating / reducing waste costs

  • Utilizes and trains our plants on the quality core tools

  • Implements on-line SPC system

  • Revises existing approach to controls on our product reliability

  • Drives a quality first culture throughout the organization

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Min 5 years’ experience in relevant manufacturing processes and automotive industry preferably tier 1 or 2

  • Advanced knowledge of Automotive OEM quality standards, systems, and processes

  • Successful experience within a Tier 1 or 2 Automotive Supplier manufacturing facility

  • Experience leading the APQP process to successful conclusion.

  • Working knowledge of ISO/TS16949 requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering Discipline or equivalent/relevant experience preferred

  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent is preferred
