ITW Labels prints and manufactures labels and decals primarily for the Consumer Packaged Goods, Grocery Retail/Weigh Scale and Durable Goods & Equipment segments of the label market. As a leading tag and label converter and with manufacturing locations in California, Kansas, Georgia, Missouri and Mexico, the ITW Labels division boasts a diversified array of printing assets with both narrow and wide width flexographic presses, both sheet and roll-to-roll screen print presses, digital presses, and equipment to create polyurethane doming for enhanced brand appeal.
ITW Labels located in Gardner, KS is recruiting a Finisher. This is an hourly, full-time position working from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Additional overtime may be required to meet business demands.
Setup, operate, monitor and maintain finishing equipment and pack finished material into boxes for shipping.
Follow work instructions on job ticket.
Independently, perform changeover functions on equipment.
Utilize machine codes and troubleshooting guides to correct machine issues.
Follow quality procedures and perform product inspection as necessary.
Achieve standards for output, waste, and quality while meeting production schedules.
Accurately complete documents for moving product to shipping, all required quality inspection signoffs, and productivity information if applicable
Prepare carton and core labels per job ticket specifications, apply to boxes, package finished product and move to shipping with completed accurate paperwork.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience in the flexography printing business is preferred.
Skills and Abilities
Ability to self-motivate and be industrious.
Ability to read, print, and speak in limited basic English language.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to navigate through box label program and print labels for order.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, color distinction and depth perception.
