Midwestern University Assistant Professor - AZ - Infectious Disease and Geriatrics in Glendale, Arizona
Midwestern University, College of Pharmacy-Glendale (MWU CPG) is inviting applications for full-time, 12- month non-tenure track faculty positions in infectious disease and geriatrics. The Department of Pharmacy Practice currently has 23 full-time (12 month) faculty, 8 part-time faculty, 15 adjunct instructors, 5 staff, and 4 residents.
The mission of MWU CPG is student-centered learning, and the faculty is nationally recognized for their excellence in teaching, scholarship, service, and outreach. MWU CPG offers an innovative three-year curriculum that emphasizes the integration of science and practice in the development and application of professional skills. MWU CPG is housed in modern facilities, including a state-of-the-art Clinical Skills & Simulation Center, on a scenic 140- acre campus in the northwest Phoenix Valley. The University’s pristine location offers more than 310 days of sunshine per year, and allows for easy access to the red rocks of Sedona, the alpine amenities of Flagstaff, and the beautiful Grand Canyon.
Clinical faculty positions at MWU CPG offer a balance between clinical and didactic instruction, and are fully funded by MWU. The faculty member will teach didactic courses offered by the Department of Pharmacy Practice, team-teach in integrated courses with the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and serve as a practitioner role model for students on advanced pharmacy practice experiences. Opportunities for involvement with pharmacy residency programs do exist. The emphasis for a non-tenure track position is balanced achievement in teaching, clinical practice, scholarly productivity, and service.
Credentials & qualifications:
Required Credentials and Experience: Pharm.D., or clinically oriented M.S. or Ph.D., plus an accredited PGY-1 residency and a PGY-2 residency in the respective specialty area. Commitment to excellence in interdisciplinary education, patient care, and research. Eligibility for pharmacy licensure in Arizona.
Preferred Credentials and Experience: In addition to the criteria stipulated above, fellowship or graduate research training, teaching experience, and/or BPS, or other national certification (or the intent to obtain advanced certification within one year).
