Position at Renovation/Remodeling
The HR Generalist will provide day-to-day professional HR support and policy administration to businesses located in Glenview, IL, Bartlett, IL, Elgin, IL & Grand Prairie, TX. The HR Generalist will serve as a trusted advisor to departmental leaders and carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), Employee Relations, Training and Development, Benefits, Wellness, Compensation, New Hire Orientation, Performance and Talent Management, Recruiting, etc.

Acts as an advisor providing technical expertise and analytical support in all aspects of the Human Resources function
Works with functional leaders to manage talent acquisition activities including: supporting talent upgrade efforts, providing advisement on market compensation requirements, and coordinating recruitment efforts from job scoping activity through to the offer phase
Organizes and conducts all new hire orientation while creating a positive first impression of the company and serving as a role model for ITW values
Inputs and maintains employee data in the HRIS system such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, terminations, and employee statistics for reporting
Prepares HRIS reports to include standard and special reports
Creates employee communication documents including new hire, disability, benefit, separation notices and related documentation
Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures and reporting meet compliance standards
Actively participates in the development of the Affirmative Action Plan within the division to ensure compliance with required legal postings on bulletin boards
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor degree required; Master degree preferred
5+ years of HR Generalist experience required; manufacturing background preferred
Strong communication skills; written, verbal and listening
Must be able to consistently meet deadlines through the use of time management/follow-up skills
Independent, proactive and organized work style
Demonstrated track record of independent decision making and process/service improvements
Proficient in MS Office Word and Excel
Experience with HRIS systems; Workday preferred
Ability to use good judgment/discretion with highly confidential business/employee information
Demonstrated ability to adapt to change
Up to 30% local travel
