Challenging and exciting role that will lead the lending function in Grand Island while having overall responsibility for the success of First National Bank in Grand Island, a growing and prosperous city in central Nebraska.


Accountable for specific annual growth goals and strategic decisions that promote long-term gain.

Promote business development and the banks image through community networking and actively participating in community activities.

Work closely with retail manager and/or other managers to ensure strategies of each area are aligned.

Manage own loan portfolio of the market's most complex credits.

Responsible for overall leadership of employees and managers within the market to set a positive direction and tone. Ensure the environment supports proactive business development, sound credit decisions, and compliance with policies and regulations.

Responsible for direct supervision of Lenders in assigned market.

Develop Annual Goals and conduct Performance Reviews on direct report(s). Coach and evaluate performance of direct report(s) and provide feedback, including informal and formal feedback sessions and formal written evaluations. Based on performance, with the assistance of Human Resources, determine bonuses, incentives, and merit increases for direct report(s).

Responsible for sustaining sound credit practices that ensure overall credit quality, credit compliance, and credit process discipline. Ensure lenders follow sound practices in loan approval process, risk ratings, and credit monitoring. As needed, manage problem credit areas and supervise actions to improve overall portfolio strength

Supervisory Responsibilities

May directly supervise Lenders in assigned market.

Education and/or Experience


Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field or a minimum of 5 years equivalent experience in a lending role. Direct lending experience in commercial and agriculture. Demonstrated success in leadership and business development.


Masters degree in Business Administration.

Graduate School of Banking graduate.

Other Knowledge and Skills

Ability to formulate strategic and tactical plans for the market.

Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects.

Must be highly organized and detail oriented.

Leadership and motivational skills with the proven ability to hold employees accountable to set goals.

Strategic problem-solving skills to address how solutions impact short, intermediate, and long-term strategic initiatives of the company.
