Instruct students in proper medical office administration functions, while promoting a positive atmosphere within the classroom that encourages active learning. Gerald R. Ford Job Corps' Mission is to help students coming out of disadvantaged positions succeed in both the workforces of today and those of tomorrow. The students who attend are aged 16-24.
The Medical Office Specialist Instructor's primary goal is to instill attitudes and work ethics that will allow their students the ability to graduate and find work within a medical office setting. In order to achieve this aim, you will need to be able to explain both administrative and medical concepts through curriculum development and personal experiences that inspire a diverse classroom of students. We already have some coursework established; however, the best applicant will be able to provide additional instruction tailored appropriately to the lesson.
Bachelor's Degree in Business Education, Office Procedures or Medical Records Technology preferred; and two (2) years of experience as a vocational instructor, required. OR Associate's Degree in Business Education, Office Procedures or Medical Records Technology, preferred; and six (6) years of experience as a vocational instructor, required.
Additionally, you must have a Michigan Vocational Teacher's Certificate.
