The National Guards full-time support program requires that all military technicians are members of the National Guard and are appointed to full-time positions which correspond to their military assignments. (IAW TPR 303, 24 August 2005)
MINIMUM MILITARY GRADE: O3
MAXIMUM MILITARY GRADE: O5
Grade inversion within the full time workforce in not permitted. The military grade must not exceed that of the supervisor. Members applying for this position and exceeding the maximum military grade listed on this job announcement MUST submit a statement in writing that they are willing to take an administrative reduction in grade to the advertised military grade on the job announcement for which applying. Applicants who exceed the military grade will NOT be placed into the technician position until they have been administratively reduced to the military grade on the job announcement.

This position is located in the Logistics Directorate of an Army National Guard Major Training Area. The purpose of the position is to manage all uses of logistical support within the directorate. To accomplish the above, the incumbent supervises a minimum of 20 employees.

- Incumbent must maintain membership in the Michigan National Guard.

Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training supervising and/or managing supply personnel and a variety of supply functions. Knowledge on the entire inventory management supply system. Experience coordinating with other organizations on complex and controversial supply issues. Experience providing advice and guidance on supply regulations to upper levels of management regarding supply functions. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITIES (KSAs):

Applicants should have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Plans, directs and organizes the housing assignment, billeting and logistical operations of a Category A MTA to include such functions as inventory and storage management, quality assurance, maintenance, procurement, and property utilization and disposal.
Renders technical assistance and guidance to the site manager, and higher levels of command for logistical services.
Reviews, proposes and issues rules, regulations and directives pertaining to warehousing and stock control procedures.
Assembles and reviews Budget estimates for the Logistics Directorate.
Performs a number of supervisory personnel functions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience:
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any fieldleading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university, meets the GS-5 level requirements.
