Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin, Inc Systems Analyst Intern in Greendale, Wisconsin


The Systems Analyst Intern will be responsible for working closely with IT team members and our business partners to analyze, design, develop, implement and maintain custom and 3rd party technical and software solutions across the organization. This position will also be expected to following the observed software development/systems lifecycle for both new and existing IT solutions.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES: 1. Participate in the development, implementation and support of technical and software solutions across the organization. 2. Assist with application maintenance including system configuration, upgrades, version control, quality assurance and production support. 3. Work with Information Technology staff, customers and business partners to translate business requirements into technical solutions. 4. Develop practical, workable solutions and recommendations based on root cause analysis and troubleshooting. Resolves system problems effectively, collaborating with customers, vendors and IT staff as needed. 5. Collaborate on the definition of project scope and objective. 6. Ensure the quality of Goodwill technical solutions though QA testing, incorporation of audit trails, exception handling and appropriate security and controls. 7. Builds an awareness of emerging technologies and trends in the IT industry to aid in the advancement of innovative software solutions.



REQUIREMENTS: 1. Educational focus on computer science or MIS undergraduate degree 2. Prior web/application development experience with exposure to the Microsoft .NET development stack. 3. Experience with Visual Studio 2013, 2015 a plus. Prior VB or C# development experience desired. 4. Experience with database connectivity through application development desired – with an emphasis on connectivity to SQL Server. 5. Experience developing or maintaining SQL code and an understanding of database design concepts - preferably through the use of Microsoft SQL Server. 6. Awareness of JavaScript frameworks. 7. 3rd party software administration experience. 8. Desired length of internship is 6 to 8 months 9. A minimum of 16 hours availability to work per week not to exceed 24 hours.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS: This position requires that you are able to be seated in front of a monitor for long periods of time. It also requires ongoing use of a keyboard and mouse.
