Job Posting- Assembler B – Food Machines

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Performs a wide variety of duties to assemble, check, test and repair in-process electronic and/or mechanical assemblies (sub or final)

  • Assemble,align, fit, adjust clearances and make wiring connections among component partsand ensure proper function and conformance of parts and/or finished products

  • Clean,file hand ream, tap, straighten broach, and set bearings and bushings, performincidental greasing, filing or shimming on assemblies or component parts asneeded

  • Performwiring/assembly of switches, motors, circuits, sensors, cables, etc.

  • Workfrom prints, diagrams, sketches, routings, MPS sheets, schematics, oral instruction,written work instructions and photos

  • Performoperational testing procedures throughout assembly process and make anyrequired adjustments, diagnose/correct mechanical/electrical troubles such asmisalignment, timing, non-functional, malfunctioning component parts orassemblies

  • Detectunusual conditions, specific problems or quality issues during assembly processand report to proper supervision (assembly errors or component parts)

  • Followtest records and final procedures to evaluate the quality of the product, checkfield repairs, institute/make repairs, and retest

  • Usehand tools, portable power tools, fixtures and gauges to build/measureperformance of assemblies,sub-assemblies, component parts and complete units, procure additionaltools/fixtures required if necessary

  • Pack/moveassemblies by using hand tools, power tools, hoists, and powered lift trucks

  • Packcomponent parts/finished products and hand load on pallets,

  • Complete/filefinished product testing and product identifying documentation

  • Assistin maintaining inventories by making transactions to reflect material changes,cycle counting, and notifying supervision when shortages are imminent

  • Reorder,cycle count and stock parts in designated locations using Kan Ban and variousother inventory stocking methods

  • Observegood housekeeping/sustainability practices and follow all safety requirements,including preventative maintenance and inspection of tools and materialhandling devices

  • Workand communicate well with others in a cross-functional team environment

  • Trainothers as required to pass on acquired job knowledge

  • Adhereto all plant rules and maintain proper attendance standards according tocompany policy

  • Performsadditional duties as required by supervisor

  • Mustbe able to physically perform (stand, pivot, lean, stoop, lift up to 50 pounds)as job assignment requires

Job Requirements


  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Previous Hobart assembly experience is preferred

  • Fundamental knowledge of computer/electronic handheld device
