There is a need for an Allergy & Immunology Experienced Physician at Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Medical Center in Houston, Texas! The position involves outpatient clinic work and inpatient consult coverage. The MEDVAMC has an academic affiliation with the Baylor College of Medicine Houston, affording the opportunity to educate medical students and residents. Prior experience in organizing and developing instructional curricula in allergies/immunology are highly desired. Successful applicants will have exceptional interpersonal skills and function well in a highly interactive faculty environment. Strong administrative support is provided for this employed position.
Specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of allergies, as well as other diseases of the immune system such as asthma and chronic rhinosinusitis, an allergist and immunologist works to educate patients as to measures that can be taken to minimize triggers, find optimal medications and mitigate symptoms of these and other medical conditions. Allergists and immunologists will look at patient history and conduct allergy tests skin tests, among other evaluative measures, in order to make a proper diagnosis.
Participation in cutting edge clinical trials is anticipated. Additional employment opportunities at other Baylor practice venues are possible.

Basic Requirements*: *
- Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
- Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Preferred Experience: Board Certified Allergist.
Preferred Qualifications: Consult new patients daily, oversee immunotherapy.
