The purpose of the Senior Manager Mobile Applications position is to lead a team of developers in the design and development of smartphone apps. This position will report to the Director of Mobile Applications and will focus on various revenue & customer experience initiatives within the Mobile Channels and collaborate extensively with our business partners to design, develop and integrate user interfaces and services that meets the business needs. The Senior Manager will also play an active role in managing the product backlog and assisting with the release management process to the App Store. New Mobile technologies appear in the market at a frequent pace and this changing landscape requires a versatile team that is in touch with the market, while at the same time able to understand the needs of our customers.


Product Delivery

  • Partner with the eCommerce team and IT to prepare and program various projects related to the latest Mobile technologies

  • Deliver across the entire app life cycle from concept, design, build, deploy, test, release to app stores and support

  • Possess a deep knowledge of iPhone & Android frameworks. Deliver state of the art iOS & Android mobile experiences across the different functions

  • Understand back-end system/services to access when building out fronts for testing ⁃ Ability to creatively architect and design programs to meet the goals and requirements of various projects

  • Quickly integrate and update projects

  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing project tasks on schedule and by interacting with other developers

  • These solutions are mission critical and crucial to various front-end as well as server based applications


  • Accountable for administrative management of 5-10 IT professionals, either as direct reports or sourced

  • HR administration, Time Reporting, etc.

  • Provide leadership by establishing department and individuals goals

  • Responsible for assessing and recommending improvements to the organization structure, roles and responsibilities

  • Participate in mentoring and skills transfer to junior members of the team

  • Participate in software code reviews to ensure the creation of high-quality, robust code by all team members

  • Provide tier 3 support to all the Mobile platforms as and when required

Mobile Tools & Architecture

  • Provide technical insight on existing mobile platforms to improve performance, availability and utilization optimizations

  • Provide research and development to evaluate emerging technologies and their potential to optimize the platform

  • Evaluate, suggest and implement third party software as needed

  • Make efficient use of source control and bug tracking systems

  • Reviews estimates for software development and delivery to ensure quality and accuracy

  • Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability and general reliability

Mobile Innovation

  • Partner with the eCommerce Innovation and IT teams to test and iterate on developed software and programs

  • Prepare projects for hand-off and deployments as “proof concepts” move to production

  • Ability to quickly adapt to changes and learning from field testing



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business Administration required

  • MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, or other related field preferred



  • XCODE, Objective-C, Cocoa, Java/Android, iOS SDK, Android SDK, Windows Phone SDK .NET, C#, ASP.NET, MVC, WCF, REST and SQL Server

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Able to manage multiple priorities and deliverables, both short and long-term, in a busy and aggressive environment

  • Must be self-motivated, possess strong communication skills and be able to work in a team oriented environment


  • Basic knowledge of networking



  • 7+ years of IT and business/industry work experience

  • At least 12 months of leadership experience in managing multiple, large, cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders

  • Requires advanced technical and business knowledge in software development life cycle, quality assurance, project management and other related disciplines/processes

  • 2+ years of experience with iPhone and/or Android development platforms

  • Experience developing native iOS Apps: Objective-C, iOS SDK, and XCODE

  • Experience developing native Android Apps: Java, Android SDK and Android Studio

  • Experience developing in C#, ASP.NET, MVC, WCF, REST


  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
