The Certified Nurse Assistant CNA obtains vital signs, intake and output, 3 P’s rounding, and transports patients. The CNA assist patients in meeting their bathing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene needs. The CNA also communicates and reports essential information to the licensed staff. The CNA participates in departmental quality improvement programs by identifying, collecting, analyzing and documenting the results.
Performs baths, peri-care, skin care, etc.
Assists patients with toileting needs.
Assists patients with grooming tasks including nail care.
Obtains and records vital signs, weights, I&O, pulse oximetry, and autolets per unit standards or physician order. Reports results outside unit defined parameters to nursing personnel in a timely manner.
Documents interventions and patient's response to care in Meditech.
Reports changes in conditions or vital signs to licensed staff in a timely manner.
Maintains a work environment free of clutter and trash.
Maintains patient safety during all aspects of nursing intervention and documents safety measures in the patient’s medical record.
Responds appropriately to all emergencies.
Follows universal precautions for all patients.
Replaces empty 02 tanks on a daily basis as needed.
Provides age appropriate care to adult and geriatric patients.
This position requires successful completion of hospital and departmental orientation, certified nurse aide training program, current listing on the Idaho Registry, AHA CPR for Healthcare Providers certification and hospital mandatories.
Has frequent interaction with physicians, nursing staff, other departments, patients and their families. Must have the sensitivity, maturity, and ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
