NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted position that requires membership with a compatible assignment in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. APPOINTMENT STATUS:EXCEPTED This is a Dual Status Excepted Service Technician position in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP STATUS: Employment in this position requires concurrent military assignment to a compatible military position in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard in the following: WARRANT OFFICER CMF 25, 91, 92, 94 MOS882A ENLISTED CMF 25, 88, 91, 92, 94
Assignment to a compatible military position is not required for application but will be required if selected for appointment.

Plans use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis. Assigns tasks to be performed based on readiness and explains work requirements, methods, and procedures. Plans and establishes overall leave schedules. Performs non-supervisory work, such as, transporting equipment, performing maintenance tasks, etc. Develops, publishes, and ensures employee compliance with standing operating procedures for the activity supervised. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience or training which demonstrates that the candidate has the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports.
Application must indicate 36 months experience or training in addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES: Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will be further evaluated by the nominating supervisor based on the following competencies considered essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE:Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience and/or training must show possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position.
INDEFINITE: **Currently employed permanent technicians retain their permanent status and will occupy this position as a Permanent Promotion or Reassignment. Indefinite employment status pertains to applicant nominated, who are not a currently employed permanent technician. Indefinite appointments may acquire permanent status depending upon future force structure requirements; indefinite appointments do not serve a trial period. Indefinite appointments may be separated when their services are no longer needed or when funding is no longer available via a 30-day termination notice.
