This position is located in the Food and Drug Administration, National Center for Toxicological Research (NCTR), Office of Management/Executive Programs & Services, Jefferson, AR.

At the full performance level of this position, the incumbent will perform the following duties:
- Develop and edit a variety of organizational reports, presentations, technical reports, electronic media projects, standard operating procedures, and other documents to accurately communicate technical information to various audiences.
- Develop, analyze, select, and present technical information on the specialized subject in a form and at a level suitable for the intended audience.
- Provide advice and assistance to authors preparing technical information for presentation.
- Review, edit, and correct draft documents; consult with other subject experts; and assist in preparing the material for printing.
- Draft, edit and review a variety of routine but highly sensitive documents prepared by professional and scientific staff members.
- Review a variety of both technical and administrative information, identifying and referring items of interest to staff as appropriate.
- Serve as liaison with technical specialists in the development of strategies for searching, acquiring, and maintaining technical materials and other documents.
- Utilize a variety of computerized technology such as Microsoft (MS) systems and other software to create, edit, and prepare materials.

In order to qualify for the Technical Writer-Editor, GS-1083-7 FPL GS-9, applicants must possess the following:
*GS 7: *
A. Have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 grade level or equivalent band level of responsibility in the Federal service assisting in reviewing and making editorial revisions on executive-level correspondence, standard operating procedures, and briefing materials. Experience providing technical editing of both technical and administrative documents. Experience using software to create and prepare materials. OR
B. Have one full year of graduate level education OR *superior academic achievement which included a total of 15 semester hours in an appropriate scientific, technical, or social science field(s), and at least one course above the introductory level in the field(s) covered by the position. *Transcripts must be submitted at time of application. OR
C. Have equivalent combinations of education and experience as stated above. Transcripts must be submitted at the time of application.
NOTE: Volunteer experience may also be used as qualifying experience.
