  • The Enterprise Security and Services group* is responsible for security architecture and technologies to protect, preserve and develop the BNY Mellon information infrastructure. The group is responsible for an extensive portfolio of security products that cut across all layers of the IT stack. A large team, deeply committed to IT Risk & Security, is actively engaged in maintaining existing infrastructure and designing, architecting, implementing and deploying next generation IT security infrastructure for Cloud services, We Services & APIs, Data Protection and next generation client service platforms. The group plays a key role in providing the enabling technology for the modern digital workplace. The group works collaboratively with all lines of business, information security & risk and is involved (directly or indirectly) in every aspect of IT security from policy & standards to design, deployment and governance.

_ Responsibilities:_

  • Contribute to Cybersecurity initiatives on information protection including data encryption, centralized key management, and database monitoring

  • Consults with other IT areas and the businesses and provides professional support for major components of the company's information security infrastructure.

  • Contributes to the development and implementation of security architecture, standards, procedures and guidelines for multiple platforms.

  • Consults with the business and operational infrastructure personnel regarding new and existing technologies.

  • Recommends new security tools to management and reports and provides guidance and expertise in their implementation.

  • Reviews and analyzes complex data and information to provide insights, conclusions and actionable recommendations provides direction and guidance on reports and analyses and ensures recommendations are aligned with customer/business needs and capabilities.

  • Ensures that all significant security concerns are addressed.

  • Recommends course of action to mitigate risk and ensures that appropriate standards are established and published.

  • Contributes to the achievement of area objectives.


  • Good understanding of security concepts

  • Understanding of cryptography and PKI

  • Experience with Unix / Linux operating systems

  • Experience with Windows 2008 / 2012

  • Familiarity with database systems (Oracle, MS SQL)

  • Java / J2EE experience

  • NET and C# development experience desirable (but not required)

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree preferred, 8-10 years of experience in information security or related technology experience required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
