Independently develops new business opportunities with Registered Investment Advisor firms, multi-family offices, and advisors in transition.

Serves in a consultative role to the prospective clients, advising top advisors or leadership on the best way to achieve their strategic goals through the firm's and industry solutions. Pursues prospects of varied complexity. Prospects could be advisory firms or institutional.

May assist a more senior Business Development team on large or complex accounts to gain breadth/depth of knowledge. May also pursue advantageous strategic partnerships with third parties in order to better respond to the prospect's needs.

Works with or locates potential prospects through in-depth industry research and an understanding of the market environment including short- and long-term trends, competitor offerings, regulatory developments etc.

For some business units, leads may originate from direct inquiries from the prospect. Prospect contacts could be advisors/individuals or institutional leaders.

Screens and evaluates existing clients or prospects by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, growth potential, financials, and internal firm optimal clients.

Consults with existing advisors or prospects on their strategic vision and how the firm can help them achieve that vision. Develops a negotiation strategy and position to align existing advisors or prospect needs to firm offerings.

Closes new prospects by structuring deal (pricing, contract terms, etc.) to determine the optimal terms for both the client and the firm. Ensures deal is compliant with all regulations.

Marshal firm-wide resources (marketing, legal, compliance, etc.) to ensure the most appropriate response to prospect proposals and deal structure.

Tracks and reports on business development results for assigned client demographic (geographic, business/industry category, product category, etc.)

No direct reports; provide guidance to less experienced Business Development as needed. Responsible for sales within assigned demographic (geographic territory, product category, business/industry category, etc.)


Bachelor s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred.

7-12 years of total work experience preferred. Experience in a related client-facing role preferred.

Applicable FINRA licenses preferred (e.g., Series 7, 24, 63, 65 or 66 etc.) in regulated areas of the firm
