This position is a full-time term appointment not to exceed 366 days. Term appointments may be extended up to 4 years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations.
The selectee for this position serves as a Production Controller in the Production Support Division, Marine Depot Maintenance Commandof Kaneohe, Bay, HI.
Compile estimates for different types of skilled labor to determine the number of worker-hours required for production operations.
Review day-to-day production status of jobs to ensure proper and timely progress and completion.
Review process standards or previous repair history in order to determine/develop cost estimates for projects/assignments.
Communicate potential scheduling problems or delays in meeting customer requirements to involved personnel and parties.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing production related program management duties for all types of projects related to design, development, scheduling, production, maintenance, research, and financial oversight in a production environment. Incumbent may be required to travel to support the Marine Corps or Marine Depot Maintenance Command. Frequent travel away from duty station may be required.
This could be on short notice or for extended periods.
Incumbent must be able to travel on military and commercial aircrafts.
Incumbent may be required to work other than scheduled shift or overtime on short notice to meet the production requirements and or other demands.
Vast majority of the work will be in an office environment, however incumbent will be required to make visits to the production areas of the Corrosion Repair Facility. Incumbent required to wear personal protective equipment to include eye, foot and hearing protection.
The majority of work is performed in the office/conference room environment. There may be times when the incumbent may be need to perform duties in the production environment, which assembly lines, welding shops, and manufacturing facilities, clean/paint facilities, and other areas required to rebuild/repair/ test Marine Corps ground combat equipment. This involves everyday risk or discomforts that require normal safety precautions and use safety equipment ( such as eye, foot, and hearing protection) typical of such places as offices and production facilities. Work environment is not always in a climate controlled area. Dirt, dust, and grease are frequently present.
