Description Every Other Weekend - Mental Health Tech

The Mental Health Technician performs vital services in caring for personal needs and provision of comfort to patients and families. These services are performed in a manner specific to the age of the patient population. The Mental Health Technician functions as a member of the treatment team and performs specific patient care and program duties. Work involves responsibility for program implementation as per program document and patient care including observation, protection, and charting provision of personal care according to direction of the registard nurse. The Mental Health Technician assists in creating and maintaining a therapeutic environment for patients. Work is performed in accordance with established program documents, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations of the hospital and the department. The Mental Health Technician works under the supervisioin of a Registered Nurse.

Requirements An Associates Degree in Mental Health Technology or equivalent years of work experience in the Mental Health field is required. Bachelors degree in psych, sociology, or other related field is preferred. Must obtain and maintain CPR certification. Must obtain and maintain Non-violent Crisis Intervention certification. The certification for this training is provided by KBMC if hired for this position.
