Kettering Medical Center NUCLEAR MED TECHNOLOGIST in Kettering, Ohio
Description Nuclear Medicine and DXA technologist:
Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures using gamma and beta emitting radionuclides and through operating sensitive radiation detection equipment (gamma cameras). This individual performs under limited supervision. Individual may perform Nuclear Medicine procedures in any one of the Nuclear Medicine sites owned and operated by KHN.
The DXA Technologist is responsible for performing DXA examinations using a Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry system. Individuals in this position will work under general supervision, but must be able to exercise independent judgment and initiative
Requires a registered or certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist through the American Registry of Radiological Technologists, ARRT(N) or Nuclear MedicineTechnology Certification Board (NMTCB).
Ohio license to practice as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Minimum of an Associate Degree required
Must have or be willing to obtain within 120 days of employment Ohio radiography or GXMO license.
Minimum 1 year previous experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
Experience in an active Nuclear Medicine department with SPECT knowledge preferred.
Ability to work well with physicians, technologists, and all hospital personnel.
Ability to interact with all patients professionally and positively.
Irregular or extended hours with potential weekend, evening, and on-call responsibilities.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Produce quality work while meeting multiple demands.
