Kettering Medical Center RN OSTOMY/SKIN SPECIALIST in Kettering, Ohio

Description Assists by promoting/guiding the education of patients/patient families, of specialty. Participates in care by implementing an individualized educational plan for the patients/patient families related to the speciality. Act as a resource person for all patients of specialty and is a consultant/advisor for the nursing staff. Utilizing the nursing process, the RN during his or her specified work period is responsible for planning, implementation and evaluation of individualized nursing care to patients in all settings where nursing care is provided in collaboration with other health care providers. The RN is accountable for his/her own professional development and practice within the scope of care defined by law. Utilizing organizational resources, the RN acts as a patient advocate for the delivery of safe care including delegation of care and participation in performance and practice improvement activities. The delivery of nursing care at Kettering Medical Center (KMC) reflects the philosophies, missions, vision and values of the organization and nursing department.

Requirements Current RN license for the State of Ohio. BSN required. Will consider qualified candidates who are working toward BSN completion. Minimum of three (3) years of recent experience in specialty area of nursing. Specialty credentials required within (3) three years. Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience as an ostomy educator or patient teaching experience. ET certification preferred, will consider employee working toward ET certification.
