Position Description:

CGI is seeking a lead developer to help in the design, development, and testing of REST-based web service SOA architecture. The developer will not be writing the actual services within the legacy systems, but will be 1) designing the REST contracts, 2) designing services and policies in the CA API Gateway tool, and 3) developing test harnesses in SOAP UI.

The senior developer's responsibilities will include: providing leadership in remote design sessions with the client, creation, supervision and feedback on the creation of functional and technical design artifacts, lead review sessions, become knowledgeable on the functional requirements of the project and become a SME on the technical requirements of the project.

This resource will also develop and supervise the development of web services in the CA API gateway toolset, create and supervise the creation of unit tests, conduct code reviews and lead technical review sessions. This resource will lead a team of five technical analyst/ developers consisting of CGIers and partner resources. The lead senior technical analyst/ developer will work closely with project management, architects, functional leads and client contacts.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

The candidate would be responsible for working with customers, SMEs, functional staff, and a small technical team to design and develop REST web service specifications (WADL, and test harnesses for a SOA environment). The candidate would be able to help generate design documentation from legacy system specifications and user interviews (use cases, business rules, UMLs, etc.) and convert those designs into the required RESTful web service contracts using WADL structures.

The candidate would be trained on and work within the CA API Gateway tool to create a web service end points, API policies, and assertions to effect the SOA environment. The candidate would use the SOAP UI toolbase to write and execute test harnesses against the REST service endpoints defined in the CA API Gatewool tool. The candidate should also be able to mentor junior staff and work alongside functional staff to help lead the team in an Agile-based development cycle.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Strong technical, analytical and communication skills. Team leadership/ management. Technical requirement writing and management. Technical design. Working knowledge and experience with SOAP and REST web service development and specifications (WADLs/WSDLs).

Bachelors and 6 years experience
