The ITW Construction Service & Parts (ICSP) Business Unit provides parts supply and repair services for hand tools across the entire ITW Construction North America businesses. Its operational data is a treasure trove of information, both for the ICSP Business Unit itself as well as the sales people that are out selling the tools. To answer certain business questions, data from multiple sources must be merged, transformed and analyzed.
The Business Analytics Intern (Warehouse & Repair Analytics) will report directly to the ICSP Business Manager but work on a daily basis with other members of the team. He/she will learn valuable analytical techniques and business processes that will be widely transferrable to data analysis across a wide range of situations and industries. By combining analysis with an understanding of the Business Unit policy, this individual will make recommendations of the discontinuation of certain parts during Summer 2017.

Analysis of business unit performance in meeting internal customer performance metrics.
Development/refinement of reporting standards for previous items.
Recommendation of parts to discontinue support of, consistent with Business Unit tool support policy.
Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor degree with a strong analytical emphasis. Preferred in Marketing, Finance, Economics or Engineering related field
Project course work that involves:
Analysis of large datasets involving software (e.g. Excel, SPSS, MATLAB, Power BI, others)
Synthesis of information for the purpose of answering a specific data-related question (preferable business-oriented)
Presentation of findings
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Expected Intern Learning:
Synthesizing large amounts of data across multiple formats into actionable business intelligence.
Structuring datasets for flexibility to answer a variety of Business Unit questions.
Applying ITW’s operating philosophy and techniques
Preparing an making presentations in a business environment
