Position at ITW Construction North America

The Mechanical Engineer Intern will assist with standard product design and quality improvement projects during summer 2017 for the Global Tool Unit within Construction Products.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist with Standard Product design and quality improvement projects.

  • Develop an improved means of assessing tool drive energy in actual nail driving conditions instead of current projectile velocity test method.

  • Assist with development of a single ECO system

Job Requirements

  • Rising Junior or Senior pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree.

  • Familiarity with 3D CAD modeling software with aptitude in one or more of Siemens Unigraphics NX, SolidWorks or Pro-Engineer.

Expected Intern Learning:

  • Component specification and integration.

  • Tooling processes and tooling modifications.

  • CAD model modification.

  • Engineering analysis and mechanical dynamic analysis.

  • Communication of technical information.
