The current salary for this job, to $222,192 annually, is effective September 1, 2016 and we are adding a recruiting incentive of $10,000.
Western State Hospital (WSH) in Lakewood, Washington is in immediate need of* Physicians *who will provide patient-focused primary medical care while building long-term relationships with patients. Because we are a 24/7 facility, we have day shift and night shift positions available for you.
Our goal is to hire a compassionate and dynamic physician who is comfortable working in an inpatient psychiatric setting. What you will do in this position:
- Direct, review and provide primary medical assessment, diagnosis and treatment services to patients with acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Perform admission and physical examination, evaluative of laboratory tests.
- Formulate treatment regimens and perform admission and annual physical exams.
- Review medical histories, diagnostic tests and interpret lab tests and clinical diagnostic procedures.
- Perform daily rounds and assess, diagnose and treat onset of new medical problems.
- Implement health prevention guidelines and coordinates referrals to specialty consultants.
- Perform minor surgical procedures, deliver emergency medical responses and mortality and morbidity reviews. We are most interested in applicants who meet the following desirable qualifications:
A qualified applicant for this position should have a valid license to practice medicine and surgery in Washington State and have successfully completed a residency in Internal Medicine or Family Practice in an accredited training program, recognized by the American Board of Internal Medicine or American board of Family Practice. Candidates that are Board Certified or Board Qualified by the American Board of Internal Medicine or American Board of Family Practice will be given preference and additional compensation.
