Washington State DSHS Plumber in Lakewood, Washington


As a Plumber/Pipefitter/Steamfitter you will be performing skilled plumbing work Western State Hospital. Our ideal candidate will be skilled in the use and care of tools and equipment and safety procedures used in repair activities.

This is a day shift position (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) Monday - Friday with Saturday and Sunday off.

As a Plumber/Pipefitter/Steamfitter you will install, maintain and repair fixtures, pipes, pumps, traps, storm sewers, septic tanks, sewage mains and laterals, valves, drains, basins, tubs faucets, lavatories, sinks, gates, hydrants, water coolers and dishwashers. You will reface, repack and reseat valves, cut and thread pipe, replace pump bushings and washers.


We want to hire somebody who has journey level standing as a plumber or steam fitter as attested by: completion of recognized apprenticeship in plumbing or steam fitting or full journey level status in plumbers and pipe fitters union OR four years of experience in state service as a full time helper to a journey level plumber steamfitter.

A valid driver's license is required.

It would be great if you already have knowledge of standard practices, material, tools and equipment of the plumbing trade and have the ability to work from blue prints, plans and sketches. APLO1 license is desired.
