Overview of Duties

You will be responsible for evaluating, assessing, planning, and implementing documents age specific, evidence based therapeutic recreation programming through a coordinated, multi-disciplinary treatment team process to a diverse psychiatric forensic patient population in a highly secure facility. Populations served may include Competency Restoration, Not By Reason of Insanity (NGRI) and a specialized Developmentally Disabled/Borderline Intellectual Functioning (DD/BIF) population.


Who We're Interested In

Graduated from an accredited Therapeutic Recreation Program AND 18 months of professional therapeutic recreation experience; OR equivalent education/experience; AND

Have a current Washington State Department of Health registration as a Recreation Therapist (or must be eligible to obtain one and, if this job is offered, you need to become registered within 30 days of employment). AND Must maintain National Certification through the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRC)

Desired Skills

The ability to independently assess for and teach evidenced-based treatment groups within a secure psychiatric forensic facility.
