  • POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for orientation, continuing education/training. Facilitates the development of professional and paraprofessional staff. Coordinates maintenance of competencies and education records for all personnel to ensure regulatory compliance. Monitors the interdisciplinary clinical staff documentation in compliance with regulatory and departmental policy. Analyzes documentation deficiencies and evaluates need for educational follow-up. Assists with various performance improvement activities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties: · Utilizes and facilitates the adult learning process to participate in the planning, implementation and evaluation of the overall Staff Development Program in response to operational and clinical personnel needs and health care trends. · Assesses educational needs of newly hired and incumbent staff through interviews, observations, needs assessments, and collaboration with managers. Ensures clinical competence of assigned staff through provision of activities to facilitate professional growth as well as instruction and supervised clinical practice, including CPR training. · Designs, implements and evaluates personnel-specific orientation and ongoing training in collaboration with appropriate managers. Assists to design, implement and evaluate Continuing Education to meet identified needs and to provide opportunities for growth and to meet all regulatory requirements. · Ensures regulatory compliance and professional growth through tracking and maintenance of educational records for assigned staff and reports in collaboration with Human Resources department. · Assists Clinical Supervisors in monitoring patient outcomes to assure compliance with standards of practice and to identify areas needing improvement and functions as a clinical resource for members of the health care team. · Maintains knowledge of and complies with all agency policies and procedures. Assists with the interpretation of Agency policies and procedures and regulatory requirements with and for other departments in order to promote their compliance. Assists in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and quality assurance monitors as related to performance improvement program education. · Assists with the maintenance of clinical documentation database and development/communication of agency documentation protocols. · Recommends and develops educational and informational materials to be utilized for patient/family education. · Conducts timely and accurate reviews of OASIS assessments for assigned branches in accordance with schedule determined through collaboration with manager. · Ensures documentation deficiencies and process deviations are reviewed with involved staff and managers. Facilitates corrective action and education. · Reviews clinical records for supportive documentation and accurate billing, identifies trends and collaborates with PI team to develop and implement corrective action. Leads performance improvement project teams as assigned. · Participates in preparation for JCAHO and State Department of Health surveys. · Represents Affilia at affiliated hospital and community committees, as requested. · Accountable for utilization and practice of systems thinking, team work and customer service. SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: The following duties are considered secondary to the primary duties listed above: Performs other duties as assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: · Registered Professional Nurse in the state of Pennsylvania required. · Current CPR Certification required. · Three years progressive clinical experience required, or a combination of clinical and other relevant non-clinical experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: · Bachelors in Nursing Sciences preferred. · One year home health care experience preferred. · One year training and development experience preferred.
