The VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System (VASNHS) is comprised of a newly constructed 80+ bed medical center, a 120 bed nursing home care unit, (4) primary care clinics throughout the Las Vegas Valley, and Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC) in Pahrump and Laughlin, Nevada.

The VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System is recruiting for a full-time Section Chief-Pulmonologist. Board eligibility/certification is preferred.
The candidate for this position is charged with delivering the best possible Pulmonary/Critical Care services to our Veteran patients.As a Physician Section Chief (Pulmonary), your duties may include administrative and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to provide patient care and supervise trainees in all healthcare settings. Responsibilities of the position include patient care, supervising providers and staff in the section, assigning work responsibilities, determining direction of section in concert with medicine service leadership, and coordinating expansion of services for the activation of our new replacement medical center. Expertise and board certification in pulmonary/critical care medicine and invasive pulmonary/critical care medicine procedures is required.
Work Schedule: Flexible tours with on call which can include early morning, evening and weekend hours as the need arises.

Citizenship of the United States. Noncitizens may be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with the Department of Veterans Affairs policy.
Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Completion of a first-year residency, or its equivalent, approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which it was completed.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
