Business Intelligence Data Warehouse Analyst, Kronos Incorporated, Lowell, MassachusettsResponsible for analyzing requirements, and designing and delivering solutions in combination with data warehouse/ETL Architects and Developers. Specific duties will include:• Eliciting or analyzing business requirements for Business Intelligence, Performance Management and Data Warehouse solutions.• Designing, developing and testing Business Intelligence and Performance Management technical solutions reflecting business needs using Cognos 10.2.• Reviewing complex modeling situations and implementing solutions with a variety of tools including framework manager, transformer, report studio, query studio, analysis studio etc.• Designing and building Complex Transformer cubes for dimensional analysis of data and publishing the cube with the required security implementation for the business.• Participating in gathering technical requirements through a variety of techniques (e.g., facilitated workshops, work sessions and interviews).• Performing technical analysis and design at the sub-system level.• Working with data warehouse/ETL Architects and Cognos Developers to lead the Cognos solutions to conclusion.• Advising users on best practices for Business Intelligence, Project Management and Data Warehousing and driving better solutions for users.• Providing best practice advice and depth of knowledge on the IBM Cognos suite (best options and alternatives for designs and implementations).• Developing trusted relationships with executives and managers in IT and business departments.
Position requires either (i) a Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent foreign degree) in Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering and 3 years of experience as a BI Data Warehouse Analyst or (ii) 5 years of experience as a BI Data Warehouse Analyst. Must also have had experience with (a) Cognos 10 Business Intelligence product suite, (b) complex modelling and report development in Cognos and configuring Cognos security for report re-usability, (c) other Reporting platforms including Tableau and Qlik View and the ability to propose the right tool based on the requirements, (d) identifying and designing solutions for key architectural issues, (e) designing “best-practice” architecture for Information management and (f) identifying areas of improvement in existing process and proposing solutions which add value to the business.
