Owned by Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), Coliseum Medical Centers is a 310 bed facility offering a 24-hour emergency room, inpatient and outpatient surgery options, rehabilitation programs, behavioral health and diagnostic services.   1. Supports the mission of the hospital to provide highest quality care in a caring atmosphere
  2. Provision of nursing care to adult and geriatric patients based upon nursing process
  3. Takes a patient assignment as directed to provide safe, effective care
  4. Directly supervises LPN and CNA job roles
  5. Promotes teamwork with physicians and other departments
  6. Communicates in a professional, respectful demeanor to all caregivers in regard to patient condition, changes, and response or results to orders and nursing interventions.
  7. Maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies, procedures, and standards
  8. Utilizes the standards set forth by the ANA
  9. Will organize, modify, evaluate, document, and maintain the Plan of Care for Medical or Surgical patients that include individualized, family centered, holistic, supportive, and safe care

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED: • High school diploma. Medical terminology required. • Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: • BLS – AHA Healthcare Provider required • Registered Nurse Licensure-State of Georgia, current--required • Advanced Cardiac Life Saving Certification preferred • Completion of credentialing requirements for unit specific skills within six months of employment

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED: • Cardiac monitoring preferred

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES: • Ability to listen, empathize and respond to patient, family, internal and external partners’ needs • Basic computer skills • Strong communication skills in oral and written format • Flexibility to intervene at a moment’s notice for patient or unit change of condition • Strong problem solving skills with willingness to seek assistance from other team members when necessary • Ability to copy with death or dying patients and their families • Active advocacy for patients and families • Utilize, demonstrate, and apply the technical and interpersonal skills necessary to safely care for patients and families in an effective, caring member of the interdisciplinary team

POPULATION SERVED: To patients in accordance with guidelines established to include the treatment, management, and diagnostic evaluation of all populations: Adult and geriatric, 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.
