Job Description

Manages a product line. Establishes market size and trends. Collects and synthesizes customer insights and competitive intelligence through customer interviews, market research and channel knowledge. Develops product strategies, plans and roadmaps to grow the business. Improves product profitability through cost reductions and recommends pricing adjustments. Launches and commercializes new products. Evaluates and reports on product performance – sales volume, margins and market share. Manages the product life cycle. Implements process improvements to reduce time to market. Contributes to long range and annual planning.

For a designated Product or Product Group the Product Manager recommends optimum product development and direction and controls product development from inception of the product through the product’s life cycle. The Product Manager will develop and implement marketing strategies for designated product groups. At AWTX, Product Manager may report to Marketing or Sales.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience Level

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related field plus 7-9 years of relevant experience. Additional education or certifications may be required for certain jobs.

Additional Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years managing accounts within a technical, specification driven business critical marketplace.

  • Experience in B2B sales - preferably business critical engineered and specified products.

  • Proven business development capabilities

  • Able to exhibit evidence of various R2M and vertical aptitude

  • Ideally from a product background that has service/parts elements and is either a solutions driven market or pull strategy lead via distribution

  • Demonstrate understanding of relationship between OEM/integrators and end users (specifies) – how to create differentiation, drive business through new channels

  • Demonstrate capability to manage / motivate remote organizations across culturally different regions
