    Rio Grande Regional Hospital is currently looking for a Registered Nurse- Outpatient Surgery Center


    · The Registered Nurse in this area assumes the responsibility of team leader utilizing the nursing process in planning, executing, and evaluating the nursing care given to the patient during the perioperative period.

    · Applies knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span to identify patient and family requirements relative to age specific needs.

    · Knowledge of perioperative nursing according to AORN Guidelines for PeriOperative Practice, ASPAN PeriAnesthesia Nursing Standards and hospital and departmental policies/procedures.

    · Ability to problem solve, apply technical skills, communicate clearly (written and verbally) and function collaboratively to provide direct perioperative care.


    · Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas

    · BLS required;

    · ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire;

    · CPAN, CAPA or CNOR preferred.

    · Minimum 1 year of critical care or perioperative experience required.
