CrossCountry Consulting is seeking a Director to develop and grow the Technology Solutions practice in the DC Metro market. In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide technology strategy, implementation and support services to both large multi-billion dollar enterprises and emerging growth companies. Our expertise is in cloud or software-as-a-service (SaaS) technologies that support the back office functions – Finance, Accounting, FP&A, and HR. As a Director on our team, you will help our clients navigate the selection, transformation, implementation, and configuration of a Financial System (i.e. Workday, Intacct, Host Analytics, Coupa, etc). Primary Objectives

Client Delivery: Lead the development and delivery of services in the following areas:

  • Lead engagements from a project perspective, and also own a full implementation or part of an implementation while deploying the product to the customer

  • Confidently and credibly propose solutions to problems and improvements to clients’ existing processes/plans

  • Serve as a solution architect working on application strategy, selection and implementation projects

  • Participate in the advisory, planning and implementation of financial systems (i.e. Workday, Intacct, Host Analytics, Coupa) by documenting requirements, mapping processes, gathering system data and converting data into format required for integration

  • Oversee teams to implement our solutions by leading the team through requirements, design, build, report development, conversion, change management, testing and cutover activities

  • Work with the team mem­bers and clients to achieve agreed upon time­lines, set deliverable structure and content while producing “client-ready” deliverables

  • Anticipate, escalate and propose solutions for service and quality issues

Practice Leadership: Serve as a key leader in the Technology Solutions practice by:

  • Managing multiple or more complex projects within scope, timeline and budget

  • Understanding key industry/technical developments and trends and can articulate how clients will be affected

  • Participate in annual planning sessions to set strategic goals and monitor results throughout the year

  • Managing client accounts, projects, and engagements, including: work plans, staffing, deadlines, and budgets throughout all lifecycle phases, to include: strategy, goal-setting, deliverables, and maintaining an integrated project plan

  • Developing and managing client relationships by understanding their business, listening to their needs, and ensuring responsive service and exceptional quality

  • Managing teams and individuals by tracking and directing performance against objectives, creating an atmosphere of trust and collaboration, modeling leadership behaviors and encouraging continuous improvement and innovation

  • Developing timely resolutions to issues, risks, and project team conflicts

  • Generating new and add-on business opportunities, developing delivery methodologies and new service offerings, and coaching and developing team members

  • Providing input on strategic direction

  • Recruiting and cultivating exceptional talent

Business Development:

  • Develop Go-To-Market strategies by working closely with the service line leaders, marketing, and business development

  • Lead marketing efforts such as creating thought leadership, attending conference and events and networking.

  • Lead business development efforts by coordinating with clients, understanding their needs, determining how our services meet the needs and crafting proposals and statements of work

  • 15+ years of industry and/or consulting experience

  • Functional/technical proficiency with implementation of at least one module within a Financial System solution (i.e. Workday, PeopleSoft, SAP, Intacct, HostAnalytics, Hyperion, etc)

  • Extensive experience with Accounting Regulations, Industry Standards, and Auditing requirements

  • Finance or accounting background with knowledge of Balance Sheet/General Ledger/Sub-Ledger concepts preferred (Chart of Accounts, Journal Entries, Intercompany transfers and allocations, AP, AR, trial balance data, General Ledger, Billing, Procurement, Expenses, and Asset Management)

  • Experience in designing and facilitating setup and configuration of one or more modules (General Ledger, AP, AR, trial balance data, Billing, Procurement, Expenses)

  • Experience working to develop and format data to meet the require­ments as defined by system rules

  • Experience defining system strategy, developing systems requirements, designing and prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures, data conversion and implementing business process improvements

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with teams and clients, make an impact, and provide excellent client service

  • 8-9 years of consulting experience with Big Four or equivalent organizations (Ernst & Young, Deloitte, KPMG, PWC, IBM, Accenture, Oracle). This background is a critical differentiator among interested candidates

  • “Techno-functional” blend of training/experience with knowledge of at least one Financial/ERP System ((i.e. Workday, PeopleSoft, SAP, Intacct, HostAnalytics, Hyperion, etc.)

  • Professionalism and discretion in interacting with executives and clients

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong knowledge of accounting and finance processes

  • Creativity, confidence, flexibility, with excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

  • High energy, enthusiasm, an entrepreneurial spirit and a great sense of humor

Certifications Desired



A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in management information systems, accounting information systems, business, accounting, finance, economics, engineering, systems, or other technical discipline
