Construction Coordinator

Summary: The Construction Coordinator is responsible for planning, review and data control of construction project materials, document controls, and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) development. Interfaces with Project Manager, Construction Manager, Construction Superintendents, Planning & Controls, and Engineering and Logistical personnel.

GENERAL DUTIES (not all inclusive):

  • Gathers and maintains labor data for project reporting. Maintains schedule documents for weekly reports to Planning and Controls, Station Management

  • Provides accurate material descriptions of procurement materials to facilitate consistent inventory stock record generation.

  • Coordinates tracking and control of project related materials utilizing project reporting systems.

  • Coordinates Helicopter and Fixed wing movements for Construction/ Science Project Support

  • Coordinates project related document control processes.

  • This may include; O&M manual(s) development, task-based O&M schedule development and tracking, spares inventories, equipment implementation etc.

  • Maintains safety records and training requirements for project personnel.

  • Performs Payroll reporting and Deltek Compliance for assigned personnel

  • Performs other duties as required.


  • Two years of experience in planning and organizing remote cargo/supply movement, and/or logistic planning is required. Two additional years’ experience in a combination for the following is also required: customer service, customer resolution, administrative duties, reporting and data management.

  • Must be familiar with various computer programs including MS Excel, email systems, and Microsoft Office software.

  • Cargo operations experience within the USAP Program is preferred

  • Willingness and ability to deploy to Antarctica for extended periods is required.

  • Must be willing and able to lift and move items, parts, assemblies and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum.

  • Must be willing and able to perform physical activities including heavy lifting, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling, and working outdoors.

  • Must successfully complete the physical, dental and psychological (if applicable) examinations as required by the NSF for deploying to Antarctica.

  • Must participate in community programs, such as “house-mouse” (chores), “daisy-picking” (cleaning-up around the station), recycling efforts & safety objectives.

  • US citizenship is required.
