Emergency Care Ministry Good Samaritan's emergency department physicians and nurses are specially trained and prepared to handle major illnesses and traumatic emergencies twenty-four hours a day. X-ray and laboratory services are available for immediate diagnosis. Critical care situations including cardiac arrest, stroke, fractures, burns, and lacerations, among others, are met with the highest standards of care. Ministry Good Samaritan is a Level IV Trauma Care Facility designated by the state of Wisconsin.

As a registered nurse in our Emergency Department, you will coordinate and administer quality patient and family care that is compassionate, holistic, respectful and value-driven. You must have confident and effective communication skills and act as a patient advocate. You will be utilizing the nursing process to perform assessment of the patient's physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs; planning, development and implementation of a multi-disciplinary plan of care; and evaluation of the patient's response to care. Perform and document thorough admission assessment addressing physical, psychological and spiritual needs of the patient. Effectively incorporate data from patient assessment in care plan development. Involve the patient, and when appropriate the family, in care planning and decision making. Recognize life-threatening situations and emergencies and takes appropriate actions. Document must be complete, legible, timely and accurate. Evaluate patient's response to care on an ongoing basis. Make appropriate adjustments to plan of care and treatment given based on evaluation of their effectiveness and achievement of desired outcome. You must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. You must hold current Wisconsin RN license, or be eligible to obtain. Current BLS certification is required. Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification is strongly preferred, or required within one year of employment At least one year of recent acute care, hospital experience is strongly preferred for consideration for this ED RN position. This is a full time position, 36 hours scheduled per week. Weekend and holiday rotation is required. Job: Staff Registered Nurses
