Lehigh Cement Company, Mitchell, IN, is seeking applicants for an experienced Electrician.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Install, maintain and repair electrical and electronic equipment.

  • Diagnose malfunctioning electrical equipment and make necessary repairs.

  • Maintain service, calibrate and repair electrical and electronic control, recording and indicating instruments.

  • Work from blueprint, circuit diagrams and specifications to install electrical equipment, controls, lighting fixtures, etc.

  • PLC hardware wiring.

  • Advanced control system troubleshooting including PLC control using wiring schematics.

  • Fuse, wire sizing and conduit fill ratios.

  • Identify motor data.

  • Perform advanced VFD installation and configuration.

  • Operation of electrical test equipment including voltmeter, megger and amprobe.

  • Install, perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot motor control and lighting systems using wiring schematics.

  • Motors: Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing.

  • High voltage system motor starters – operation, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.

  • RTD’s & Thermocouples – install, troubleshoot and repair.

  • High School Education or GED required.

  • 3-5 years’ electrical experience in a manufacturing facility, preferred.

  • Understanding of arc flash guidelines.

  • Able to interpret electrical schematics and symbols.

  • Able to interpret instrumentation schematics and symbols.

  • Ability to understand and work from manuals, blueprints, diagrams, sketches, vendor reference material and specifications.

  • Available to work rotating shifts, weekends and holidays.

  • Available to be on call to respond to plant needs.

Must complete all assigned work in compliance with all federal, state and local regulatory requirements (i.e., MSHA, OHSA, DOT, DOL, etc.), including safety programs administered at a State or Local level where allowed by the Department of Labor. Must maintain awareness of surroundings at all times and perform work in a safe and productive manner. In the event of a workplace incident, immediate notification to a supervisor and/or manager is required.
