Your tasks and responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this role, R&D Specialist II-Automation are to:
•Operate and maintain an established automation platform for ELISA-based protein expression analyses. Assist fellow scientists to automate laboratory workflows; •Optimize and troubleshoot technical issues encountered during laboratory analyses, with the focus on the use of automation technologies; •Conduct the laboratory work by applying technical expertise in molecular biology and biochemical techniques, while following the approved study protocol, applicable methods, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and GLPs regulations. Responsible for the data analysis, interpretation and accuracy; •Identify and implement process improvements to laboratory processes; •Keep up to date on current and cutting edge developments in the laboratory automation field; •Act as a GLP laboratory personnel under the guidance of a Study Director during the conduct of a regulatory study. Record the experimental results in a timely and organized manner following relevant GLP procedures; •Responsible for writing and reviewing of applicable SOPs. May assist in preparation of data summary reports and study reports; •Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure equipment logbooks are updated in a timely manner; •Ensure compliance with and participation in Bayer Safety and Stewardship programs.

•Non degreed with 10 years relevant experience, BS with minimum of 2+ years of experience or MS with minimal years of experience. Degree should be in a discipline of Biological Sciences with relevant industry experience in analytical sciences; •Demonstrated hands-on experience and knowledge in implementing state-of-the art automation solution to improve laboratory processes in a GLP setting (preferred); •Good knowledge of and experience in the field of molecular biology or biochemistry; •Demonstrated creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Capable of developing novel yet “fit for purpose” approaches or solutions; •Proven ability to collaborate in a team while completing projects respecting deadlines. Need to be agile and adapt project priorities and deadlines; •Good organizational skills and attention to detail; •Demonstrated proficiency with verbal, written and presentation skills; •Proficient with MS Office; •Experience working in a GLP environment (preferred).
