Summary of Position: The Clinical Services Group (CSG) is responsible for the development and implementation of HCA’s Clinical Informatics (CI) Program as well as the expansion of business processes and performance related to HCA’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) program. Clinical Decision Support (CDS) provides clinicians, staff, patients or other individuals with knowledge and context-specific information, intelligently filter and presented at appropriate times, to enhance health and health care delivery.
The Clinical Analyst is a subject-matter expert who actively participates in the development and implementation of CDS requirements and processes as they relate to the clinical, administrative and financial process and variations in the Clinical Informatics program. This position requires an extensive understanding of clinical workflow and health care based information technology. The Clinical Analyst will develop requirements for monitoring program deliverables. Additionally, this individual will create content in contribution to newsletters and team presentations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure a standardized and consistent approach relating to the implementation of CDS deliverables.
Serves as a subject matter expert to provide leadership in development of the appropriate strategies, plans, tools and approaches to ensure successful implementation.
Thinks analytically and critically to develop requirements for measuring and monitoring program deliverables.
Present data formally and informally and facilitate discussion regarding the CDS program.
Create content in the CDS toolkits for deployment across the enterprise.
Maintain CDS inventory in collaboration with teams at corporate and division levels.
Contribute to and conduct gap assessment in support of governance prioritization.
Collaborate on data models incorporating end user views.
Define functional and non-functional requirements.
Collaborate with system analysts to define technical requirements.
Develops and executes tactical plans based on the project goals and success.
Creation of communication and education deliverables to support the CDS program.
Contribute to the pilot planning and support with the team.
Develop and maintain collaborative relationship with service line teams, core system support and development teams, clinical knowledge management team, and clinical content management.
Escalate to and collaborate with the CDS Director on program issues and risks to identify solutions.
Other duties assigned as necessary, to support CDS, the Clinical Informatics Program Office and the Clinical Services Group.
Experience in a clinical setting. RN preferred.
Experience in the management, organization, and sharing of clinical data in accordance with established policies.
Detailed knowledge of the health care industry including EHR strategies, medical-legal issues, laws, regulatory agencies and other national/international standards preferred.
Ability to communicate and facilitate topics clearly and effectively across department lines; working inside peer groups and receiving guidance from supervisor.
Demonstrated oral, written and technical communication skills required.
Demonstrated presentation skills and experience required. Possesses good organizational skills, as well as visual and verbal presentation skills.
Knows and applies the fundamental concepts and principles gained through experience to solve a range of straightforward problems and moderately complex problems.
Flexibility and adaptability to handle a varied set of work assignments.
Results-oriented with a demonstrated strong commitment to and ownership of projects.

Some travel required.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
Clinical Degree and current certification required (i.e., Lab, RN, Imaging and Therapy)
