Reporting to the School of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Office, will be responsible for working with personnel matters related to all staff, student hourly and faculty populations. General filing, organizing files, scanning files, copying, and data entry. Responsible for making appropriate copies of contracts and understanding paper flow process. Facilitate the processes for hire, reappointment, evaluation, merit increase, leave, and termination. Plan and execute meetings and events including logistics, announcements, rsvp, etc. Assists in various SAS departments on CAC, Douglass, Livingston and Busch campuses as needed to provide administrative support, including assisting with the coordination and administration of programs, projects, and/or processes and with the control of records, statistics, reports and documents. Provide support to the department chair by scheduling meetings, appointments and transcribe and respond to routine correspondence. Oversee daily operation of the office. Assist faculty, students, and visitors with Travel and Business arrangements and reimbursements. Prepare business transactions, purchases, etc. for SAS Service Center processing.

Minimum Education and Experience

High School diploma or equivalent, and/or up to 4 years of relevant office, clerical, bookkeeping, library assistant or related experience depending on the duties to be performed. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the experience requirement.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must have a strong sense of organization and attention to detail; ability to work independently.

Because of the nature of the materials handled with this assignment, a confidentiality waiver will need to be signed by the individual hired into this position

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Ability to lift 10-15 lbs.; able to climb stairs, as needed. Will be required to travel to Rutgers New Brunswick/Piscataway Campuses.
