Lead User Experience Designer


Digital Payments & Labs at Mastercard is leading the design & development of capabilities for consumers as payment products are evolving from traditional to digital.

Within Digital Payments & Labs, Experience Design is a combination of user researchers, user interface designers, visual designers, content strategists and prototypers that work collaboratively to develop engaging and highly usable products.

The Leader Experience Design role will design consumer facing product experiences in the digital payments space in close partnership with product and technology teams.

The individual will be involved in design from concept to execution, including consumer validation & testing, in an agile product development environment.


Design from conceptual to execution experiences that are grounded in research and insight of the intended audience.

Ensure that designs deliver an appropriate balance of optimizing business objectives & user insight, in close partnership with product managers.

Work closely with the development organization during the entire development lifecycle to ensure that designs are effectively translated into production ready code.

Liaise with regional and country teams to ensure that designs are reflective of the diversity of needs for a global user base.

Comfort driving design that fist contextually within a broader ecosystem, where experiences will require tailoring to meet the needs of both Mastercard customers and end consumers.

About You

Do you have experience designing transaction products with a high level of user engagement?

Are you adept at producing wireframes, mockups, flows and other methods of elaborating design experiences for web, mobile & device?

Are you comfortable working in a cross-functional, agile context for designing digital experiences?

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in the design of cross channel experiences from concept to wireframes & final design deliverables.

Comfortable working in complex, cross functional teams with strong communication and partnership skills.

Track record of experience designs that launched to positive end user feedback & adoption.

Experience in user centered and/or service design approaches, including workshop facilitation.

Working knowledge of ADA and WCGA accessibility standards.
