PAE is currently seeking a Construction Manager to support Nigeria Contract and oversee the execution of given tasks from end-to-end including being responsible for schedule, budget, quality and delivery. The Construction Manager will: - Determine labor requirements and dispatch workers to construction sites. - Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other customer regulations. - Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and sub-contractors. - Obtain all necessary permits and licenses. - Direct and supervise workers. - Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods. - Select, contract, and oversee workers who complete specific pieces of the project. - Requisition supplies and materials to complete construction projects. - Prepare and submit budget estimates and progress and cost tracking reports to the Project Manager. - Develop and implement quality control programs. - Take actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction site. - Confer with supervisory personnel, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems. - Plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems. - Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at construction sites, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out. - Evaluate construction methods and determine cost-effectiveness of plans, using computers. - In conjunction with the Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the implementation of PAE SOP’s, policies and procedures and reporting any deviations to the Project Manager. - Review and Edit POI and assist in the training class as required. - Perform other functions as maybe tasked by the Project Manager.
- At least 10 years’ experience in Construction Management is required. - Demonstrated knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses or buildings is required. - Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models is required. - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction is required. - Ability to operate independently in austere environment for protracted periods and willing to transfer to other missions as required. - Must be a well-motivated individual, as the hours are long and hard. The hostile weather conditions factors must be taken in to consideration out here in Africa Niger. - Must be able to live in tented accommodations in a remote location. - Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and administrative details in a fast paced and constantly changing environment are required.
