Business Leader - Internet Engineering

Overview\n\nLeads team of engineers responsible for designing connectivity/infrastructure on company-wide projects. Creates the development and delivery of enhanced solutions. Researches alternative technical solutions for changing business needs, and is responsible for ensuring the daily activities of the team meet project requirements according to a set of defined standards. \n\nRole\n\nSuccessfully lead major project efforts and complex assignments with broad scope and long-term business implications. \nCreate solutions with high level of innovation, cost effectiveness, high quality and faster time to market. \nLead day to day design and maintenance activities of the team to meet project deadlines. Collaborate with business and technical partners to identify and scope the opportunities, identify risks, benefits and constraints. Contribute to the overall strategy and manage complex issues within functional area of expertise. \nDevelop overall strategic technical plan and create architecture proposals based on identified solution gaps. Managing a team of design experts, lead the planning, design and implementation of technical solutions. Create solution definition and solution architecture. \nAssist in examining commercially available and forthcoming industry technologies related to area of expertise. Research on current and upcoming technologies and application appropriate frameworks and provide recommendations to Management. Perform PoCs (Proof of Concept) and help Department in the selection of Technology. Proactively create and maintain solution and technology road maps. \nPartner with Project Managers in implementation of processes per the evolving needs of the team and the solutions. Create cost and time estimates for implementing business solutions, defining technical scope and requirements of the project and assist project manager with managing scope during the lifecycle of the project. Identify Quality methodology and define Quality Metrics for the Team. Define and Lead Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes in the department. \n Co-ordinate a global team of engineers, some of which report to other managers but get their responsibilities and workload from centralized team managed by this position. Manage day to day activities. Support collection and reporting of project metrics. Actively look for opportunities to enhance standards and improve process efficiency. Mentor and guide other team members during all phases of the project life cycle.\nMentor, coach and assist project team members. Provide Brownbag sessions on new and upcoming technologies, methodologies and frameworks. Provide technical training to the team. Assist with selection of technical resources for the projects. \nEnsure compliance to the defined standards. Actively look for opportunities to modify and enhance standards per the needs of the department. Develop documentation templates, lead and enforce development of documentation throughout the development lifecycle of the solution. \nEnsure compliance of Audit Requirements by proactively educating team on Compliance Requirements and Integrating Compliance Requirements in design phases. Represent team during compliance audits.\n\nAll About You\n\n Strong management skills with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.\n Technical architecture and design background with history of looking for new and more efficient ways of raising the bar.\n Do you enjoy learning more about business and technical demands and providing resistance to other technical teams in certain areas of application design where standards are not being followed?\n Are you the type of person that will drive the solution and team in the best direction instead of the easiest?
