Director for the Rehabilitation Administration Department of Social & Health Services

You'll provide visionary leadership to rehabilitation services across all program areas, resulting in:

  • Reductions in recidivism through a focus on treatment, employment, education, reentry services, positive youth development principles, and client and family engagement
  • Improvements in racial and ethnic parity
  • Greater rehabilitation outcomes for customers of vocational rehabilitation, including increased student preparation and planning for employment and higher wage jobs
  • Improved treatment and rehabilitation outcomes and community-based services for civilly committed adults. As Director you're accountable for:

  • Connecting the mission and vision of Rehabilitation Administration to every encounter with staff, policy makers and legislators, budget and policy decisions, personnel, other systems, community members

  • Leadership on issues of importance to the Governor
  • Continually strive to maintain connections and strategic partnerships with internal and external government entities in order to advance a shared mission of rehabilitation and greater shared community outcomes
  • Advocate endlessly for racial and ethnic fairness in all services
  • Oversee all programs assigned to the Administration by statute and/or executive order
  • Implementation of all programs, policies and operations for the Rehabilitation Administration
  • Provide administrative bodies within the Administration's divisions to carry out their functions
  • Exercise supervision over personnel and financial records for the Administration
  • Implement reforms designed to improve operations throughout the Administration designed to improve safety and welfare for clients and employees
  • Promote better coordination and cooperation across agencies that serve Washington's youth, the civilly committed, and persons with disabilities What we're looking for

  • You are an Administrator with experience leading a 24/7 facility

  • Have held responsibility for a budget in an equivalent sized organization of approximately 2,400 employees
  • A therapy, therapeutic intervention, or evidence-based therapies and rehabilitation background is desired
  • Strong critical evaluation, conflict management and problem solving skills to effectively identify daily problems and effectuate appropriate solutions to maintain public safety, high quality service to our clients, and sound business practices
  • Able to interpret and equitably apply rules, policies, and procedures and exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive and complex issues
