Job Description:

As an Enterprise Network Architect provides the necessary leadership, facilitation, analysis and designs related to the development of an enterprise technical architecture that ensures the success of enterprise-level technology rollouts. Enterprise Architects operate across FNTS to drive common approaches and standards. Enterprise Architects provide guidance to ensure the reliability, interoperability and sustainability of the technology and information solutions FNTS uses. Enterprise Architects strive to align technology solutions, models, and architectures with defined business strategies, driving the most business value out of each initiative. This role works closely with Information Security, Technology Subject Matter Experts, Project Managers, FNTS leadership and as needed with customers.

Key Accountabilities:

Accountability (Technology Consulting and Solutions Development)

Consult with FNTS leadership on new initiatives and business challenges. If appropriate define a technology solution that meets Reference Architecture standards, while taking into account any business and/or customer considerations or constraints. Document solutions; identify pros and cons of the solutions, along with any assumptions made during the solutions development process. Present your recommendation and review the solution with the team.

Accountability (Technology Planning, Strategy and Road Map)

Participate in technology and business planning sessions, create technology strategy documents and contribute to the FNTS technology road map development. Insure an enterprise-wide approach during strategy and roadmaps development. Possess broad knowledge and perspective on both customers and technology.

Accountability (Technology Standards, Policy and Governance)

Actively contribute to all areas of technology standards, policy and governance. This includes working with appropriate subject matter experts and technology discipline leaders to continually refine and update Reference Architecture and technology standards.

Accountability (Technology Research, Evaluate, Recommend)

Research, evaluate and recommend technologies that support current or future FNTS strategies. Document all research findings, along with anticipated impact and benefits to the organization.

Accountability (Technology Support and Optimization)

Provide ongoing project support and technical escalation for internal FNTS resources as requested. Mentor, coach and recommend additional training opportunities for technology team members. Evaluate and make recommendations for tuning and optimization to insure business and technology optimization. Proactively identify unnecessary complexity and potential failure points in our environment, assist with creating plans to reduce or eliminate where appropriate.

Accountability (Professional Relationships and Alignment)

Demonstrate professionalism in the workplace. Build and maintain strong relationships with technology and customers to facilitate improved alignment of technology initiatives to business strategies.

Job Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field. Or equivalent work experience.

Five plus years of experience in network design.

Broad technology knowledge, exposure to multiple, diverse technical configurations, technologies and processing environments.

Ability to apply multiple technical solutions to customer problems.

Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies.

Experienced at solutions development and design engineering based on customer needs and constrains.

Strong knowledge/experience of CISCO firewalls and routers.

Strong knowledge/experience of CISCO Nexus devices.

Strong knowledge/experience of routing protocols.

Strong knowledge/experience in load balancing and content switching.

SDN experience a plus
