Lockheed Martin Reliability Engineer / FRACAS / FMECA / Testability / Orlando, FL in Orlando, Florida

Reliability engineer responsible for performing FRACAS on Sniper Advanced Targeting Pod. This job is a high visibility position and requires strong presentation skills; routine and frequent presentations are required to senior management and customers. This candidate must be able to interact with engineers, suppliers, quality, production operations, program managers and customer. Candidate must be assertive, people orientated, self-motived, self-driven, able to work overtime (weekends & evenings when required), ability to multi-task, self-starter, and able to work in a diverse and inclusive environment.

This job primarily entails monitoring FRACAS data to identify root cause and corrective to improve field reliability. Additional responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: • Developing reliability analyses (e.g. reliability/maintainability predictions, FMECAs, Fault Tree, testability/BIT) and perform formal whitepaper/failure reporting writing. • Ensuring that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards. • Supporting to program Engineering Screening Board (ESB), Engineering Change Board (ECB), Failure Review Boards (FRB), design reviews and test activities, as required. • Recognizing opportunities for improvement based on failure data and support development and implementation of system design improvements. • Interacting with engineers, subcontractors, program managers and customers during the investigation, documentation and resolution of system failures. • Be a part of a team that supports company, customer and governmental agency reliability objectives. • As necessary, identify changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability. • Recommending design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability. • Compiling and analyzing performance reports and process control statistics; investigates and analyzes relevant variables potentially affecting product and processes.

Basic Qualifications • Must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance. • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in an engineering focused field. • Reliability engineering and FRACAS experience with general understanding of analyses, modeling concepts and tools. • Good written and oral communication skills; experience presenting findings to customers and management. • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office. • Strong problem solving skills.

Desired skills • Active Secret security clearance. • Understanding of Mechanical, Electrical and/or Electro-Optical Engineering. • Experience and demonstrated knowledge of military hardware. • Maintainability and Testability/Built-In-Test (BIT) engineering experience. • Practical hands on experience with hardware and troubleshooting. • Knowledge and experience with statistical concepts and analysis. • Self-starter capable of performing assigned tasks with very little or no direction; interacts well with others. • Analytical thinker with a demonstrated ability of solving complex problems which require ingenuity and innovation. • Experience working in a matrix organization; ability to work with cross functional teams.
