The Sr Staff Accountant is responsible for accurately handling day-to-day accounting processes and financial information, including monthly and quarterly close processes, in order for the team to achieve its objective of ensuring the accuracy and integrity of T. Rowe Price Group and its subsidiary financial information. The position will review, record, and reconcile financial transactions, investigate and resolve issues, and perform analysis that is used in the compilation of statutory and regulatory financial reports required to be filed in the U.S. and international jurisdictions in which the firm operates. The role will also support management on strategic and tactical special projects as they arise. The position is expected to have substantial knowledge of U.S. accounting principles and practices.


Account Reconciliation

  • Prepares, records and analyzes financial transactions to accumulate and record accurate and timely financial history.

  • Performs account reconciliations and analyses to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures, integrity of account balances/financial and management reporting and effectiveness of business processes.

  • Researches and proposes resolution for discrepancies or identified issues.

  • Managing Reporting Standards

  • Assists or prepares schedules to support regulatory, statutory, or management reporting to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.

  • Generates ideas and collaborates with others to improve existing process, communication and recordkeeping.

  • Create and execute financial reports/queries from numerous financial systems and tools to provide management with timely information to make informed business decisions

Maintaining Control Environment

  • Ad hoc reporting and related analysis with a focus on accuracy and completeness.

  • Assists to develop, maintain and ensure compliance with corporate policies and standards.



  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance and 3-5 years experience in accounting/business

  • Experience with ERP Systems

  • MBA or pursuing an MBA, CPA, or CMA certification


  • College degree and 1 year of related work experience, or

  • Associate degree and 3 years related work experience, or

  • High School diploma/equivalent and 5 years related work experience

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or finance

  • Substantial knowledge of accounting principles

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel

  • Strong analytical skills along with sound judgment

  • Ability to prioritize multiple functions and work with limited supervision.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to work in a team oriented environment and perform work for a number of different supervisors and managers

  • Works well independently and in a team environment. Comfortable in a matrixed environment
