Revlon Sr. Category Specialist in Oxford, North Carolina
This role is responsible for and manages purchasing, materials requirements planning, supplier relationship management, product life cycle and service design. Overall they will manage supplier day to day performance, execute supply chain improvements with those organizations managing the inbound material supply network and escalate to Procurement as and when necessary for long-range planning and for chronic performance outages based on the supplier scorecards.
Plan and execute procurement of finished goods and raw materials from global contract manufacturers and suppliers.
Maintain strong working relationships and communications directly with contract manufacturers and suppliers to confirm production/shipping schedules and monitor open purchase orders for all orders to ensure on-time deliveries.
Proactively report product and material availability issues.
Maintain purchase order status and shipment tracking information in SAP/legacy ERP system.
Maintain, monitor Master Data; revise essential system planning data to ensure SAP/legacy system is effectively planning future requirements.
Proactively provide supply status and shipment tracking to production planning teams.
Maintain Supplier data; validate lead times and data integrity within appropriate planning tools.
Manage LL inventory reporting, and action planning to deliver NWC targets including specific goals for SLOB inventory.
Update supplier scorecards and measure: OTIF, WALT, Quality metrics. Participate in reviews and initiate corrective action discussions with underperforming suppliers.
Assist the Category Leader in developing and maintaining the RCCP for critical materials within the supply base.
Participate and contribute to improvements in response capability through reduction of lead times and appropriate inventory policies.
Identify opportunities to achieve greater cost effectiveness across the supply base.
Identify high risk areas within the category, propose solutions and assist in the implementation of aligned mitigation plans.
Participation in material strategy teams, RFP’s, giving site input to contracts.
Supervise the daily activities of Category Specialist(s) if required.

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college. Preferred areas of study Include Business Administration, Supply Chain Management. Logistics or Operations Research. APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) highly desirable.
3 to 5 years of experience in Material Requirements Planning, procurement, inventory management or other supply chain management function.
Sound knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including manufacturing planning, procurement, demand, and replenishment processes.
Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and with outside suppliers.
Strong organizational skills; ability to evaluate data, prioritize, determine appropriate course of action, and gain acceptance of recommendations.
Ability to work with functional groups to effectively and professionally achieve results.
General technical capability/understanding of how materials’ physical properties interact with equipment
General understanding of finished product quality variables and attributes and their relationship to materials
General operational knowledge of manufacturing processes & equipment utilizing the materials
General understanding of location, purpose, and content of materials specifications
General understanding of statistical reports used in material quality specifications & quality management. General understanding of the supplier’s equipment and relationship to key physical properties of materials
Experience with MS Office suite especially Excel, Access and Power Point.
