About the Job
The Materials Processing Postdoctoral Researcher will design, lead, and execute experimental campaigns to explore and characterize novel materials processing methods. As a member of the hardware labs at PARC you will work with scientists and engineers from a range of diverse fields and contribute to multiple, interdisciplinary projects. Flexibility and general physical, scientific knowledge are essential for success in this role. The ideal candidate has hands-on, experimental research and development experience working with any of a number of existing processing methods including: aerosol formation, spray coating, spray drying, electrospraying, roll coating, coating technologies, polymer melt processing, melt spinning, colloidal and ceramics processing, fluid deposition and related methods.
• Ph.D. in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or related with 0-3 years of experience post-graduation • Hands-on, experimental experience in a research and development environment working with materials processing methods and equipment • Highly self-motivated and capable of developing, leading, and executing his/her own experimental plan • Strong academic achievement as demonstrated by publications and/or patents • Passion for entrepreneurship and commercialization of new technologies • Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
